Scholarships

1. The awards are open to students of Filipino citizenship who have completed their 6th grade (Grades 1-6) of school and who will be twelve years of age by September 01, 2027.
2. For SY 2027-2028 only, the awards are also open to students of Filipino citizenship who have completed their 7th grade (Grades 1-7) of school and who will be thirteen years of age by September 01, 2027.
3. The candidate must have demonstrated high academic achievement (no grade lower than 85% or its equivalent in any subject). Candidates must submit a copy of their report cards, school records/transcript from Grade 1 to current grade level with completed application forms.
4. The candidate must demonstrate financial need.
5. The candidate must meet all regular ISM entrance requirements.
6. The candidate must have an excellent command of oral and written English.
7. The candidate must possess high personal standards and be in good health.
8. Only one sibling per family shall be considered for the scholarship program.
9. Dual citizens are not eligible for the scholarship program.

*Please note that school year 2027-2028 at International School Manila begins in August 2027.

After reviewing applications, successful candidates will be requested to attend an assessment day on Saturday, January 9, 2027. Parents and candidates will be welcomed in the Fine Arts Theater of International School Manila before candidates are ushered to the Lofthouse for assessments. Student candidates will be required to complete a series of tests in reading, writing and mathematics.

After Testing Day, successful candidates will be invited to return for an Activity Day on Saturday, January 16, 2027 or Saturday, February 6, 2027 for collaborative and team building activities. This will allow the selection committee to gain a better understanding of each student’s strengths and challenges. The day will begin at 7:00 AM and will conclude at approximately 3:00 PM. Morning snacks and lunch will be provided for the candidates.

Based on the overall application and the results of the assessment day, a group of candidates will be selected to continue in the search process. This will include a scheduled "home-visit" along with a panel interview of individual candidates in the Middle School conference room. 

Based on all of the information and the final interview, a decision will be made on which students will be awarded the ISM scholarships.

1. The awardees must indicate acceptance within one week after notification of the scholarship grant.
2. The parents or guardian of the awardees shall provide for all other needs of the student outside of those stipulated in the scholarship grant including lunches, school uniforms, and other related school activities and trips.
3. The awardees shall complete the High School course at International School Manila unless the award is terminated earlier due to poor academic performance or behavior problems.
4. The awardees shall observe all rules and regulations of International School Manila.
5. To maintain their awards, the awardees shall maintain a level of scholastic achievement set by the Philippine Scholarship Committee.
6. A yearly evaluation will be made by the Philippine Scholarship Committee on each awardee to determine qualification to continue in the scholarship program for the following year and/or the financial need of the family.

NOTE: The students must be fully committed to attend International School Manila for a period of six years (Grades 7-12) or five years (Grades 8 – 12). This year is a transition year where both grade 7 and grade 8 scholars are accepted. For school year 2028-2029 onwards, acceptance will be for incoming grade 7 only.
