~High School Profile: School Overview~
The International School Manila (ISM) is a private independent school for students in Pre-School through Grade 12 and is incorporated under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines as a non-profit, non-stock organization. It was founded in 1920 as the American School, but the name was officially changed in 1970 to reflect its diverse student population. ISM is accredited by the U.S.-based Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is certified to award both the traditional U.S. High School and International Baccalaureate Diplomas.
ISM students represent some 60 different nations with approximately 25% North American, 8% European, 60% Asian-Pacific and the remaining 7% from other countries. ISM is a college preparatory school where instruction is primarily in English. We aim to prepare our students for higher education institutions around the world, with the majority of our students attending universities in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Japan, Korea, Europe and Australia.
