~International Baccalaureate and
Advanced Programs~

These are the sites to go to find out more about the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement Programs. However, you should see the IB/AP coordinator for more detailed information about each of these programs of study.

International Baccalaureate - The IB Programme is a demanding pre-university course of study that leads to external examinations. The programme has earned a reputation for rigorous assessment, giving IB diploma holders access to the world’s leading universities.

The programme, a comprehensive two-year international curriculum, was born of efforts to establish a common curriculum and university entry credential for students moving from one country to another. International educators were motivated by practical considerations but also by an idealistic vision: students should share an academic experience that would emphasize critical thinking, intercultural understanding and exposure to a variety of points of view.

Advanced Placement - The AP Program is a collection of college level courses and examinations that gives students the opportunity to study individual subjects in depth. Students are challenged to work hard in order to learn as much about a subject as they can, discover new interests and prepare themselves for the rigors of college work. 90% of US colleges and universities give credit and/or advanced standing to students with AP examination scores.

Universities that Recognize the IB Diploma - This is the IBO database for universities around the world and their recognition of IB qualifications.
