Welcome to ISM
There are many reasons to be nervous about an international assignment--especially if that new posting will be the first time that you have lived abroad. What is the country like? Where will I live? Will I eat the same kind of food? What can I do over the weekends? Is it safe? And of course, if you are a parent, the first question will always be: Is there a good school for my children?
This website gives you a brief glimpse into life at International School Manila. I hope it will go some way to convincing you that, yes, there really is a wonderful school in the Philippines where children learn to make the best of themselves as young people growing up in an ever more complex world, and where teachers have the chance to develop their careers and challenge themselves to be fully contributing members of an outstanding faculty.
I am a parent as well as a school administrator, and I have twin children who began their formal schooling in ISM’s Kindergarten. I see at first hand the quality of work that they complete at home, and I watch them in the huge range of activities they participate in after school and at weekends. Since I make several hundred classroom visits each year, I have also been able to watch their teachers as they work every day on their lesson preparation and pedagogy to develop the best possible educational environment for the students in their care.
I truly believe in ISM.
I hope you find our website informative. If there is anything more we can tell you, we shall be delighted to help.
